Job Responsibilities

We provide all the training. As student teachers serve as role models for their students, student teachers will exhibit good manners, habits, and behavior, presenting the best possible image to the youth with whom they are working. As the primary purpose of student teaching is to begin learning how to teach, student teachers focus primarily on instructional matters. Student teachers accomplish this as they fulfill their instructional responsibilities. These include:

·         Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.

·         Apply teaching techniques based on Design Thinking, and Scientific Methodology principles

·         Learn about their students learning abilities to help them achieve the instructional goals

·         Maintain ethical interpersonal relationships with their students, parents, and educators

·         Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom you are responsible.

·         Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.

·         Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.

·         Instruct students in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.

Outcomes:

  • Broaden your horizons, knowledge and skills beyond your field of study. It creates new opportunities and deeper learning.
  • Develop a professional network of contacts.
  • Build a resume before you enter the workforce. Companies love to see commitment and community service in their future professionals. It shows you care!
  • Increase and improve your competence skills such as self-awareness, communication skills, and the opportunity to exercise civic responsibility.
  • A stepping stone to greater opportunities! Research shows an internship substantially increases the likelihood of landing the job you want versus those that did not intern during school time.
